The Secret Source Cocktail

There are a lot of reasons I love having a blog dedicated to delicious drinks. I mean, who doesn't love a reason to try a new cocktail? I also have to admit I really love it when I see someone who tells me they tried one of my drinks (well, at least when they tell me they loved it).

One of the unexpected benefits has been the number of new recipes people give me. If you have spent any time with me, you know I love a good story, and I love to share just about anything...especially recipes. However, now I can say I have another favorite part to the blog--the secret source.

I know, it sounds intriguing, right? I write for work, and I love it, but I am no journalist. I will never have to go to jail to protect my source.  But recently I was given a great drink recipe, but had to promise not to reveal the source. You know I immediately agreed...a delicious cocktail and a great story, does it get better than this?

My source (that I can't reveal) gave me the original recipe, as well as his modifications. I really recommend you try both versions--but it's a strong cocktail, so it might be best to spread it out over a couple nights. The only thing I am allowed to say about the cocktail's creator is that many people know him by the nickname Sky. I would like to sincerely thank Sky, because this is one delicious cocktail! While I suggest you might try to bribe me with a tasty recipe of your own to try to get me to reveal my source, I am confident I can tell you it won't work...but you might be the subject of my next post.
Cheers!
Fresca Martini
Sky's Version
2 shots Absolut Ruby Red vodka
1 1/2 shots white grapefruit juice
2 shots cranberry juice (not cocktail)
Add all ingredients to a shaker with ice, and shake like you mean it.*

My source's alteration
2 shots Absolut Ruby Red vodka
2 shots white grapefruit juice
2 1/2 shots cranberry juice (not cocktail)

*Note from my source: "shake like you mean it" means you should see shards of ice when you pour the cocktail. Yes, it will require some effort, but it will be well worth it!
